NOTICE
The Town of Thurman Highway Dept is accepting applications for the positions of MEO and MEO/Mechanic. Applicants must have a valid CDL class A or B with air brake endorsement and at least one year of experience operating heavy trucks. Must also be available for call in during winter storms or other such situations when needed and be able to work well within a group setting. Duties will include routine maintenance of the assigned truck, general labor and other duties associated with highway maintenance. Full-time job with benefits as described in the Union Contract. Applications can be picked up at the Thurman Town Hall or the Highway Dept at 311 Athol Road, Athol, NY.
CERTIFICATE OF NO REFERENDUM: The undersigned is the duly elected and acting Town Clerk of the Town of Thurman. On June 20, 2024, the Town of Thurman Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the construction of a new highway garage; and authorizing the issuance of up to $4,500,000 in serial bonds of the Town of Thurman to pay the cost of a new highway garage; and authorizing the issuance of up to $4,500,000 in bond anticipation notes of the Town of Thurman for the same purpose. On June 27, 2024, notice of the adoption of such resolution with an abstract of its terms and notice that such resolution is subject to a permissive referendum was published in the official newspaper of the Town of Thurman. I hereby certify that more than thirty days has passed since the adoption of such resolution and no petition for a permissive referendum has been filed in my office. Cynthia R.
